2003 110bhp TDI engines/codes

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone has any experience of these engines?

I have sadly ruined my original 'ASV' coded engine from my 2003 Octavia running low oil but have found a 2003 Leon 110 TDI engine for sale. The guy selling has no idea what code it is. I see you can get a code 'ASK' 'AHF' and 'ASV' all 110hp TDIs. Is there much difference between them? The local Seat dealer couldn't help without a Chassis number which is not available alas. They didn't know what the difference was either. This engine is cheap, but not worth it if it won't fit! Thanks for any help or advice.

How about the owners manual for the Leon, as if the same as the Octy should list the engine code.

If the vendor still has the car, it'll be on the boot sticker.

The code is on the block.

IIRC in a leon the TDI110 was also an ASV.

I see a lot and provided it looks the same (eg not the earlier generation 110 with different oil filter housing and different camcover) I see no reason why it should not plug up to your ECU and work fine. I'd concentrate on the manifolds, oil filter/cooler, sump and camcover when looking for differences.

IMHO, of course.
