Hi all.

You've no doubt seen posts from myself and Dan on the forums.

Basically, I manage the customer service section of Fluxs so am here for all your service needs. Dan monitors forums with clubs that we have links to and handles more of the premium side of things. Between us, we can answer any query that you have.

If anyone wants a quote, then pm either of us with a brief description of your needs and a number. Feel free to specify a time - the new quotations team are open til 7 mon - fri. Customer service, for changes to your existing policy, are open 9 - 5:30 mon - fri. Both are open 9-4 on Saturdays.

We are currently working on solely web-based interactions - so you will be able to get quotes online without making a phone call, as well as change your policy. When this is live I will let you know.

If you have ANY questions about insurance then feel free to post them here - we can offer advice on all situations. It is hard for us to comment on the rules of another broker, if you are insured elsewhere, but we can certainly advise as best we can.

I'll post some more threads with some frequently asked questions for you. If anyone would like to specify what they'd like to see on here - such as why does my area affect my insurance, how come brokers give different rates but they're both with Highway (for example), what happens if I crash and it's not my fault, etc etc - then let me know and I'll oblige.

Thanks for the welcome on the site and I look forward to speaking with you.

Jenny

Hi,

Yes it is a forum we are on already.

Dan.

Hi there, I have joined this forum on a work basis however stumbled across this section thats interesting as Im personally insured by yourselves. My queiry is that I am a new driver and only been driving for 6 months, my premium with you is very very high which I expected for someone of my age with as little driving experience, however I did after starting with you have a look at other insurers who where alot cheaper.

I stayed with yourselves anyway and in general have been impressed with the service.

A few days ago I became interested in a new vehicle which is more than double the value of my current vehicle and a bigger engine also. I phoned your customer services who quoted me vurtualy the exact same premium, I had already looked elsewhere for quotes and had found 3 insurers who where again much cheaper, I told the lady I was speaking to this, and she put me on hold and returned re-quoting me £300 cheaper!! I am struggling with the payments on this premium so i would like to know if this drop that I was re-quoted on a bigger car could be applied to my current one so that I can stay with you, because if not I have no alternative but to move elsewhere.

I hope you can help with this matter an dlook forward to your reply,

Many thanks

Tom

Hey Tom

Thanks for your query, its not something I can deal with personally, but I can talk to the correct people. If you can PM me your details (surname/postcode/client reference) and we will see what we can do for you.

Cheers

Dan

how come brokers give different rates but they're both with Highway (for example)

Why is that? Always wondered about it

And also, why should a premium increase after having a non-fault accident, even after gaining another years NCD?

Hiya - brokers individually negotiate schemes with the Insurer, and it will depend on what the broker specialises in etc. For example, we might have better rates on car type X because we specialise in it, and also have had better statistics in the past from policies on that car. Another broker might have a better rate on car type Y for the same reason. It also gives more of an element of competition in the market.

The second bit - strange, that one - as not many insurers add on extra premium if you have a non fault accident, so you might have been unlucky there. If it's fault then yes, you become more of a risk to the insurer so they add premium on. If you had a handful of non fault ones they might not want to insure you at all, because although non fault, it could point to other factors (suspect claims for example). Some do add on for one non fault accident but it's not something as a broker we see a lot of.

Feel free to ask me to elaborate if you need any more info. Insurance is often a confusing business!

Jen

Hi There

Did you want to PM me your personal details - i.e name/customer reference number/phone number and best time to call you?

I'll get one of the renewal team to have a look and see what they can do for you.

Cheers Dan

Just wanted to say what fantastic service I've just had from AF. PM'd Jen with regard to a mod I wanted to add to the car. She got back to me straight away via PM to say she'd be in touch. Just got a call from AF, and they are going to add the RARB to my policy at no additional cost.

Fantastic service all round!

Cheers!
