fuel computer problems

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any dealings with their fuel computer not working correctly. mine does't seem to be saving any information about MPG. you can be driving the car and park it up over night and come back out in the morning and the its lost all information. speedo, mileometer and clock are all fine.

any help would be appreciated as its really annoying.

There are two sets of data stored by the trip computer.

MFA 1 - resets after 2 hours of inactivity

MFA 2 - keeps the data until you manually reset.

The set is selected by a momentary press on the button on the underside of the stalk. My guess is you have changed from MFA 2 to MFA 1.

how do you change it. is it easy to change back. wasn't aware that i had changed it

It's the button on the underside of the stalk. Just give it a quick press. To reset the trip information, press and hold it until it clears on the display.

Or automatically resets after 10,000 miles......

or 99hours 59mins (which is likely to happen before 10,000miles)
