Been thinking of a different car for the Mrs

Featured Replies

I've had a crisis of conscience about letting Mrs. Witchfinder drive around in a crummy Ford Fiesta carrying my son. It's not the safest car in the world, and it's starting to show it's seven years. We're not exactly flush at the moment, but she has a little money locked in PEPs and other wierd investments, and we agreed to get her something a bit newer.

So today, I found myself test driving a MY 2000 Ford Focus. The looks didn't turn me on, and I hate the interior on all Fords, but what a sweet handling little car! It corners beautifully, and it turns in about two thirds of the radius my Octy turns in.

No wonder they're so popular. I kept telling the Mrs. to look at Fabias, but now I'm not so sure. It was completely gutless being a lowly 1.6, but it felt much more solid than her Fiesta. I think she's going to buy one.
