Fabia SDi brakes - best place to buy from?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Not posted on here for a long time. Our Fabia SDi (Slow Diesel - injection:)) is knocking on the door of 99k miles now, and it needs new pads and discs.

Can anyone recommend anywhere to get the discs and pads from/a recommended parts supplier?

Is there anything I should watch out for when replacing them?

Many thanks

Anyone? The car is a Y reg. Do all Fabias of this age run the same front brakes?

GSF or euro car parts normally

Thanks. Anyone else? Who is GSF?

Also, get a price from your dealer for OEM parts. Quite often you'll be surprised at how competitive the prices are.

Cheers guys. Much appreciated. I live on the next road to the skoda dealer in Preston so I will pop in there and get a quote.

Ended up getting them from my local VAG specialist VolksWorld on Blackpool Road in Preston. £70.32 including VAT.

Hopefully it'll be an easy job.

KIDD, hi. Out of interest did you get a quote from your local Skoda dealer for the parts and if so would you mind sharing with us the price they gave? I'm going to be doing my wifes rear brakes (drums) on her SDi soon and I was wondering if I would bother getting a quote from my Skoda parts seeing that GSF is so cheap.

Nick....

Skoda wanted £35 for the pads, and £39.99 each for the discs...

Blimey! That's quite a difference! Seems like you have a good cheap local parts supplier with Volksworld. Even GSF would come in at around £90 all in.

I was quoted cheaper but the VAG guy is good and knows his shizzle. he asked for the chassis number so I know they WILL fit. The other place just wanted model and age... They were only £5 cheaper so I didnt think it was worth it.

Got home at 6pm, job done by 7pm. Peace of cake. Parts came to £69.95 all in.
