New Car Discounts - Dealer Bonuses ???

Featured Replies

I am looking at buying a Mazda 5 Sport Diesel with a lux pack. After months of searching for the best deal & the dilema of trading in a 2yr old Subaru Impreza Sportwagon, (for peanuts!) we have finally sold the Impreza privately (for more than the trade in price).

I have already got the local dealer up £1900 on his original deal (but this was a mix of slightly better trade in & discounts)...however I have since found out I can now buy a better spec car for less money via Drive the Deal. Our only enemy now is the timescale as most of the current offers/discounts are due to end on the 30th Sept.

Drive the Deal have said they will see what they can do, but I fear I may have missed that boat. So my question is - do I take what is on offer from the local Mazda dealer (they had a nice unregistered Sport Diesel in black) or take the chance that the deal for the next quarter might be even better? which gives me time to hope DTD come up trumps or start searching again. Your thoughts?

wait till the next quarter , there will be better deals then , especially as the new 58 reg sales have been so poor

But some dealers will be depending on hitting their quarter targets, if that one last retail sale will make the target you can get very, very good deals.

But having said that any dealer that is depending on hitting their quarterly targets won't last too much longer.

Wait till the next quarter. Car sales are down and I am sure Mazda's sales will also be down. Then try Drivethedeal. That is where I got my Skoda from.

cheers guys...actually done a deal & secured a discount of over 14% on list...almost £3k, secured 0% finance, mats & cheap servicing...used the Drive the deal price (which I'd checked a couple of weeks ago) to get them down...think they were chasing a target...absolutely delighted (well the wife is !!!)

good stuff, the dealers need more customers happy to deal with their local peeps and try for a decent deal. remember if everyone went to places like drive the deal you'd have no local dealers left to service and look after you. plus when it comes to change your car you will actually have a local dealer to test drive you as well! :D
