Felicia lower strut brace

Featured Replies

ok, is it worth doing it or not??

basically it will just be a couple of bits of steel plate and a length of tubing between the track control arms to re-inforce it all..

spooky, i was thinking about this the other day but haven't had a chance to get under there and see what can be done.

remember that running all them ARB's is gunna put all the stress back through the sub-frame and body. might well be a good idea.

yeah, especially with the weight of a 2.0 engine hanging over the front axle

i've had a look at it ed, and i don't think it's going to be easy, the most obvious way is to just have a bar coming straight across underneath, but the gearbox and exhaust are in the way, so there would need to be a bump in the bar, this would make the ground clearance very small and you'd risk bending it on speed bumps, the other option is to go upwards and over the top of the steering rack, but that would need a bar bent in a very intricate shape which would loose it most of it's stength, tbh i can't work out an easy way of doing it at the moment

I wonder what a strut brace that goes out and around the front like a bull bar would look like? Would it even work?

strange you mention that, i was thinking about that too, i reckon there would be too much 'flex' in the tubing..

there might be another solution though :rubchin: have to put my thinking cap on
