Problems with Installation of Factory Bluetooth Kit

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have just fitted a factory Bluetooth kit, supplied by Stu - many thanks.

Almost everything is working having set up using Stu's very useful & informative octavia-vrs.com website.

The phone connects, system beeps, phone book pulled across, as is the recent call, missed calls etc.

The mute button works on the MF steering wheel to activate voice dialing.

I can make calls, (haven't yet tried receiving calls)

I can hear the other party.

My problem is that they can't hear me.

VAG-COM shows mic voltage at 3.84 & current approx. 0.007A, voltage went up and current down when mic was disconnected.

HELP!!!!!

There was also a new fault code which came up:

01299 Diagnostic Interface for Data Bus (J533)

004 No signal/communication.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Mike

I get those fault codes on my '06 Octy and mine works fine.

Try clearing them and see if there is a change. Not sure what else to recommend.

Can you check the connections on the microphone are the right way round.

You'll need to go back to the plug on the controller -

Pin 11 White Mic in +

Pin 12 Black Mic in -

Microphone two pin plug-

Pin 1 Black

Pin 2 White

I had one ages ago which puzzled me until I realised the pins were reversed in the plug.

We cleared them & they came back again next time we checked. Everything on the car seems to work ok.

Just NOT the microphone.

Could the mic be duff & need replacing?

Check the continuity of each of the wires between the microphone and whatever they plug in to. If there is a bodywork earth on the microphone, check it is making proper contact.

Then, unless you know someone who is into electronics and will be able to test further, you'll have to assume the microphone is bad.

Until when ish?

Until it dies off I suppose. I'll email you my mobile number.

All sorted with a new microphone.

Nice to meet you on Saturday.

Glad you got your problem sorted in the end.

Having now seen/heard the phone kit it makes me want one.

Hi Mike,

Glad you got it all sorted - i'm running a parallel thread on some issues i'm having on my Bluetooth kit - looks like a phone/firmware issue perhaps. Could you please confirm phone manufacturer and model you are using please.

I'm getting calls ok - but call lists are not updating which is a pain - you seem to have this working with ur phone.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Ste.

Not yet. Waiting for contract to run out first.

I currently use a Sony Ericsson K800i & everything works perfectly as it should now thanks to Stu replacing the Mic on saturday at the canterbury meet.
