motorworld?

Featured Replies

i've just heard that motorworld have ceased trading?? is it true??

might be some bargains to be had:)

their website has been taken offline.

Interesting, they were stupidly expensive even compared to halfords around my way.

I always liked them. Local and handy.

Don't worry someone will buy them out cheaply and start them up again,it happens all the time.

I worked for a company that owned them some years ago as well as FPS,Maccess and a good few others. The company at the time was called Finealist group.

The main problem has been the decline of some motor accessories shops over the last 15 years or so due to the internet and everyone (i.e. Tesco etc) getting in the market.

I got out of the motor trade around 8 years ago and it was dying then.

The one next to my office was mostly staffed by the sterotypical spotty yoofs who had over used their staff discount on their own 10 year old Corsas and escorts who knew nothing about anything except how much those 15" Wolfraces would look boss on anyones car.

There where one or two exceptions who breezed through there but generally they were undertrained, ignorant and sometimes just plain rude which was probably as a result of the expectations placed on them by a very poor management team who have had no direction or any understanding of people, proposition and profit.

If they had to order anything they had to use a manual system without even being able to get a price before the guy in the warehouse had been called and confirmed it all. I ordered a Stebel horn from them and waited 6 weeks for it not to turn up. It then took another week for them to figure out how to refund me...

It was always going to end in tears for these guys. I look forward to no more "thumpin bass toons" erupting from the latest shoddy boot install that one of them has lashed together with tape, thundering through the building when I am working
