Having recently picked up on the 'Cage' thing I decided to do my MAF connection today. I have used Vaseline as that has been recommended by a couple of threads (also saved me struggling with town centre traffic to get to Maplins).

Just a thought from a non specialist in this field-would a similar touch up of the MAP connections also bring advantage from loose connections, contacts, etc?

If this is a no no, remember, I am only asking. I haven't touch the car, honest...

There is a guy on here that has a MK1 Octy and has done all his electrical connections under bonnet without probs.

Your not going to get a massive increase in anything for any of these. The so called "cage" mod can give your MAF a little more sensitivity which can come out as a good thing but in our climate the advatages would not be obvious to the majority of users. I can't see doing the MAP sensor would have any advantage at all.

BTW most Maplins are these days on retail parks and you can order online.
