Get your water pump changed!

If anyone is thinking of getting thier cam belt changed in the near future ask them to price to change the water pump at the same time even if it is working. I say this because I had my cambelt changed just after i bought the car last year at a main dealer (Autosales Bilston) and they didnt offer to do the water pump at the time (fair play they change the tensioner) you may say "if it aint broke dont fix it" but it is a £35 part which vw/audi know only lasts for about 35k miles anyway. I reckon it should only cost about an extra £70 to the total cost of the cambelt change as it is driven by the cam belt and is only held in by 3 bolts, as it stands mine went last week and you are looking at £250(if your lucky) to replace it as the cam belt has to come off again.
