Skoda fitted Sub

Featured Replies

Looks like an infinity basslink style addition... they are ok but cannot replicate a 12" sub in a sealed box etc

Granted but I need my boot space - do you think its reasonable value for money though?

Think its a Blaupunk 5inch sub. I can't see it being that loud. I'd go for a 8inch sub myself if you still want space.

Nice one, cheers for that

I've got one but it's not fitted yet. I'll let you know.

Nice mark up Skoda!

I've got the model up from it, the CMS266 which is a 140 watt, 10" sealed active sub. To be honest, I've not heard many subs, but I think its excellent for the modest price.

Have you fitted the Blaupunkt sub yet rich?

I'm after a sub but need all of my boot space, so was thinking of either putting it where the, (now redundant), CD changer was, or under my seat.

I've also found this Pioneer jobbie;-

http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/product_print.jsp?product_id=9192 anyone have any comments on it?

Where did you mount the CMS266 version pbirkett?

I just put it in a corner in the boot in my last car. I havent yet got around to sorting the ICE in the Skoda yet though so it sits in my wardrobe ATM.

I've got the Sony active 8" sub. It's OK for

Still not fitted I'm afraid and now it's ended up in that cupboard at home. You know the one. It's where all the stuff goes that you can't fit in the plastic bag drawer in the kitchen.

Out of interest, are the CMS 265 & 266 powered off the HU or do they need a dedicated live feed?

And where did you get the 266 from, I can't find it on any searches so far

On my searches I found this Infinity that seems to be highly recommended;

and the price seems like a bargain also!

Comments anyone!

Still need advice on the likeley power supply required. I don't like the idea of having to feed a wire from the battery via the bulkhead grommet that's been detailed before on here!

Give me ten minutes and I'll look in the cupboard. For you

Here you go.

Ooops. Try again.

Got there in the end :D

It won't fit under an Octavia seat but does sit where the autochanger was very nicely. Bit of Velcro on the back, job done. Unfortunately this was as far as I got.

Ooops. Try again.

Sorry to be a pain Rich, put can't read the attachment :o

Just a simple yes or no to the original question will suffice - Ta :D

First line reads 'Connect red wire (1) with positive battery.' I guess that's a yes? Can you tell why I haven't fitted it yet?

Not wanting to sound a complete numpty though but doesn't that mean just any live feed?

I know the one... It's for all the stuff that fell off the backburner into the too hard box... then when the too hard box starts brimming over but your mother in laws coming round... It goes in the cupboard :)

I'm hoping so!

Found some info on the net from people who've install one and most seem to have them powered off their HU

Octaviablack

The sub is dead simple to fit/wire up.

The white block connector fit directly onto the sub. The yellow block fits to (if memory serves me correct) to the centre is the ISO connects on my Woodstock. On Blaupunkts there are 3 connections. One for a CD Changer one for a sub and the other I cant remeber. The red cable is a positve supply..I merely tapped into a feed that goes to the cigarette lghter and also fitted a simple inline blade fuse.

As I said the hard bit was finding somewhere to fit the sub...I wanted under the passanger seat but alas no room. Also in the boot area..its always full of my gear so that was out. I then settled for the front footwell and mounted it there high up and out the way.

With regard to your Kenwood HU I cant say. You'll have to check the ISO connections at the rear. If there is one for a sub then you'll be OK.

I know this unit works with all Blaupunkts and some standard VW fitment radios like the Gamma 2 radio/cassette. I have another sub here which will eventually land up in my Bora.

Setting the sub up via the controls was again simple enuff. :)
