Brembo 4-pots?

Featured Replies

Hey y'all,

New guy in skoda land here! Will be collecting my new fabia vRS in a couple of weeks time, really excited, and am already itching to modify it! :P

After trawling through the site, top site btw, I figure the brakes are a good starting point! ;)

I was just wandering what spec calipers I need to be buying? The recommended disk size, and the preffered pads for hard road use??

I've looked at badger5's site, but couldn't find a kit for the fab.

Thanks in advance,

swerve

Hi Swerve.

This is the favoured option at the moment until other options become available.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Andy!

So there aren't any Brembo's, currently available, that will fit?

Thanks for the speedy reply,

Not that I'm aware of - you can't even get decent performance pads yet hence switching to the Octy disks and calipers.

Not sure the brembo's would give you that much more benefit.

As I understand it anyway. Fluid then if needs be, upgrade to Octy calipers/carriers allowing for DS2500's and some good discs and it will stop better than brembo's on oem pads IMHO. IIRC Pauls on DS3000 was out braking GT's @ Anglesey on std calipers...but 3000's+4.1+drilled and grooved discs.

Oh sweet, cheers bud,

Are the octavia pads, and calipers, best sourced directly from skoda?

Thanks,

swerve

Loads of people have upgraded their Octy brakes so there must be loads sitting in peoples garages, suggest you post a wanted thread

Pads you want better than Skud std, I would suggest DS2500 by Ferrodo only down side they are a bit dusty.

Also upgrade the fluid

Anyone tell me roughly how much the calipers, carriers, and disks will cost from skoda? and how much are the DS2500?

Bearing in mind the car will be used mainly for commuting, and maybe the odd trackday. I'd prefer as little "dust" as possible. Is there a pad that is less dusty, but not too much of a compromise on performance?

Thanks Again,

swerve

Hello...

Im running a 312mm disc setup off a Octavia RS (green calipers) but AudiTT /S3 - Leon Cupra 1.8t and Golf anni calipers are the same.. just different colours..

HERE is a thread with some details

hey neo, thanks bud,

I just got a reply from bill (badger5), and he says the 323x28 brembo kit will fit the fabia, with 17" rims.

And no one mentions my brakes....?

323mm Brembo Four pots (same GT kit as supplied by Badger5)

?iid=y3s4e0&outx=600&oq=0

?iid=y269y7&outx=600&oq=0

As for not being much different to the 312's id disagree not done any tests but having driven cars with both mine are alot firmer and slowing down is never a problem.

I have done a review of this kit elsewhere on the site.

Will there ever be Brembo brakes designed to fit under the 16-inch rims? I dont want to change my wheels at all.

Id very much doubt it. There just isnt the clearance behind the standard wheels.

And no one mentions my brakes....?

Didnt want to steal your thunder m8 :D

(pic whore strikes again)
