I never realised

Featured Replies

I never realised how good (or bad depending on your perspective) 2nd hand roomster prices were, im looking for something bigger and never considered the Roomy because theyve only been around since 07. The Roomster would be ideal for me as i need something that the dog can ride in aswell as something that can hold mountain bikes/kayaks/camping gear for around the 7k mark. Was only considering Fabia and Octy estates, but the roomster would be by far the best choice. I love the moveable seats and the space, my dad has a Berlingo for his work barge and i love the practicality but couldnt face owning one myself (im 22) but ive always liked the roomster. Esp in 1.9td form.... remap  Its a bit more car like than the other vans with windows.

Now i just need to sell my GPS... anyone interested in a trade? :D

Thats not a bad find, cheers! Love the glass roof... ooooh a 3 too, was only looking at 2's. Ive got a couple of prices p/x but they are way short of what i would like, which is obvious. Only want to pay an extra grand max for the new car, Im selling my car in the wrong climate though really, but then again im not desperate to sell, would be nice to have something bigger for spring next year. Think the roomster has moved to the top of my 3 choices though. Going to go down to the local dealer and have a look round the one they have.

Try and get a '3' or Scout if you can, the interiors are much nicer on those and the '3' in particular is very well equipped.

Yeah, ill have to see what comes about, i suppose also the longer it takes to sell my car the more ill have saved to supplement my new purchase. Higher spec is always better IMO, although im not sure i like the scout, never liked the look of cars that have the chunky plastic bumpers to make them seem rugged, doesnt even have 4 wheel drive does it? Although never seen a scout in the flesh so im open to being proven wrong.

I might be biased (because I have one) but I think the Scout looks ace. You're right, it's not 4wd, but apart from the chunky bumpers you also get a different design of alloy wheel, sunset glass, roof rails, ESP and different seat fabrics.

Once you've got one I guess you might beat me to youngest Roomster owner on here? (I'm 26).

Nice dog. I got roomy 3 Tip. just for my ( big) dog. A dealer fitted dog guard is about £100. They also do a very handy fold out plastic rear bumper protecter thingy for only about £8. Very handy anti dog claw scratch protection.

Like i said im open to my opinion being changed, i do like the wheels that come on the scout, hopefully it wont be ****ing it down tonight so i can go have a look over one on my way home from work.

Yeah i like all the practical things it can do and can be bought for it, esp for the dog. Wouldnt be trading up if it wasnt for him, but when asked he refuses to contribute

Look at it this way; whilst you may have to take a 'hit' on the sale price for your car, at the same time most car dealers (like Estate Agents) are pooping themselves at not being able to shift metal (houses); therefore you should get a really strong deal on a purchase.

If you can; best way will be to sell privately (Autotrader) and then buy Cash from the dealer.

BTW your reasons for buying a Roomster are exactly what it was designed for.:D Don't worry too much about the spec, although try and avoid the 1, just get the best you can afford.

Good luck.

Yeah i really dont want to take p/x on the roomster, its on AT, PH and a few more so hopefully will go privately. Only been a week with not much interest but i suppose im lucky im in no rush to sell, but once i start doing something i just want to get it done . Wrong climate to be selling a car though really. I hope it goes privately so i can buy private (better prices) or walk into a dealers with cash and get a great discount.

You would think they would offer deals to get the business, but it seems to me like they are trying to make more profit from the deals they do make. A car salesman is never going to work in our best interest is he? Love how they say 'this is a cracking price' for p/x when its way short of value, as if they hope youre a complete idiot and will take it. But ill try to be patient.

Looking at 2's, theres loads about sub £7500, and maybe 3's (i would like the cruise control and thats about it, maybe parking sensors for SWMBO:rofl:).
