vrs door llower door lights!

Featured Replies

My passenger side door light does not work i tested the bulb seemed fine!!

Any other problems that could of caused this?

Do you mean the puddle light?

It should have a little resistor and u-shaped bit of fuse wire on the back of the light unit once you prise it out of the door. The u-shaped bit of wire has probably broken. In that case the light bulb may still work (eg. when tested with a multimeter) but the light unit doesn't.

Same thing has just happened with my sisters Seat Leon door puddle light.

The part number is 1J0 947 411B, thats for the whole light unit. It's costing us £6.80 from Seat.

Slightly OT, but why call them "Puddle lights"? Puddle lights shine down out the base of the door, not back out the trailing edge.

True, they're more of a warning to traffic approaching from behind that you have a door open. The Seat guy said the part came up on the computer as a "Warning Light".

They have a clear bottom half though so I guess the light from that illuminates the gap between the open door and the door sill (not that the interior lights don't do that anyway!)
