vRS air filter

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

whilst having a nosey around the engine bay i noticed that i could see the orange surround of the air filter poking out the side opposite the screws.

I removed the two screws and lifted the filter cover away and noted that it is a genuine filter, but is this correct or should the cover sit down over the filter to seal it properly.

Also is it worth fitting a green panel filter( whatever that is LOL) to a standard VRS ??

Thanks

It's always worth fitting a performance panel filter over standard in my opinion, but if you're just worried about your current filter fitting then personally I would just stick with what you've got now.

Undo the lid of the airbox, reseat the OE filter and put the lid back on. If you can see some of the seal then that's fine (as it's just the seal) but make sure that it's properly seated.

I *think* the edge of filter will be visible with the lid on, certainly on one side if not all the way around. If however you're concerned do as Joff said, have a look and reseat if required.

Re 'performance' filter on a standard car I would bother, just change yours every 10k. If you're doing high miles if might work out slightly more economical to run a 'performance' filter. Otherwise the paper one will be fine, I'm sure others will disagree ;):)
