Alternative vRS seats?

Featured Replies

Will other seats from the VAG range fit straight into the Octavia vRS? I know in the MK1 Octavia MK 4 Golf seats fit straight in, as I popped a cheaky pair of leather MK 4 recaros in. Even the rear bench fitted :o)Are there any seats that would fit the current MK2 Octavia? Reason being the front seats I find REALLY uncomfortable, and I fancy full leather. I have toyed with Seat Surgeons, but that would leave me with nice looking, yet still uncomfortable seats...........Over to anyone who can help!?Cheers

Although not leather, i found the seats in the current Fabia Sport 10x better than the Octavia's seats...

And so did SWMBO - who is a complete fussy bugger when it comes to the vRS Seats

IMHO the only real alternative is a pucker Recaro seat (leather of course). They are probably the best you can buy but are not cheap, expect to pay c. £1,000 - £1,200 for a 'Style' with heating/cooling in Leather.

The best bit is that you can transfer it into your next car. I bought mine new in 2000 fitted into an Omega. It then spent 3 years in a Fabia and since this time last year has been in my vRS. The leather is still in fantastic condition (treated with leather conditioner every six months) and I had the squab foam replaced last year when fitting to my vRS.

On the other hand. Has anyone any experience of the full Leather option for the vRS and what are the seats on that like?

Doesn't it look odd with different seats in the front?

YES; particularly when, like me, it is only the driver's seat that is different. But then what the hell, I'm not taking it to a custom car show and I want my seat to be comfortable and supportive. (95% of my mileage is with me on board only anyway).

BTW, I find the driver's seat a bit short in width and a bit soft. I expected a bit deutscher stiffness in seat. Being decided to optimize mpg and car responsiveness I ended with reducing my own weight :D

Ciao!

Will the mkV golf gti leather seats fit straight in? see a few low mileage sets on ebay...

My back can vouch that the regular Octi seats are quite hard. I can imagine the sports ones.

:iagree: Thats the only thing i miss from my Vectra GSi, the standard recaro's. Although not leather, they were the best car seats i've ever had.

MK1 seats definately don,t fit MK2.
