New VRS Skoda Fabia

Featured Replies

Looks promising. Doesn't half look like a Corsa/Astra from quite a few angles though!

Steve

You are right Wardy, from the side it doos look very much like the 3-door astra (sport hatch or whatever stupid name they call it!)

is it me all do all the new superminis look very similar. Saw a new fiesta the other day. Looks very french.

Can I add Cee'd too?

all cars look the same now because of NCAP.

they all have to pass the same test so end up looking the same.

Saying that, I'm sure you all have noticed that the fabia II is a spitting image of the suzuki swift. (just a little bit bigger). Same face and black A pillars etc

Seriously, I have to disagree. The Swift is a far better looking car than the Fabia II :duck:

I didn't say either was better looking than the other, so you have nothing to disagree with!!!

missing the point tho...its not diesel!

Point of what? Making a hot hatch thats competetive in the market place?

The Fabia 1 vRS was quite original when it was launched. Its been done to death now, and Skoda need to move with the times, which if they bring out a 180 bhp Fabia 2 vRS with DSG, they will have done just nicely.

I rekon the Skoda version will be 150/160bhp with a manual box :)

I have heard rumours, that they will throw in the new VW's 1,4TSI motor (yes, the one that's turbocharged), in it's 160bhp configuration (maybe more), and quite possibly with a DSG.

Quite honestly, if I were Skoda, I would also do the following:

- roll out a Fabia with the engine mentioned above, add some sporty things like lowered suspention / wider fenders. Have it with a DSG and with a manual as an option.

- as an alternative, boost the engine up to some 200bhp, make the suspention even sportier, throw in a 6-speed manual, and you're done.
