US Nintendo DS Lite, used in the UK

Featured Replies

Would I have any issues when it came to charging? Would a UK charger be okay, or would I need a socket adapter for the US charger?

Are the games region specific?

all standard i think, no region specific ds's!

await correction!

Get a Revolution card, then you can download the games from the t'internet for free. Got a 4gb mini SD in ours with a few hundred games on. The socket on the DS will be the same i imagine so you could either get a cheap ebay UK cable or buy a US>UK plug converter.

Yeah, read about the R4 thing. In the process of home-brewing my PSP, but I might have a very last minute trip to NY on Monday, and Nintendo aren't dropping the price of the DS Lite at Christmas, in readyness for the DSi, so figured I'd get a cheaper one in the US - only if the charger will work.

The games are region free , but I don't believe the mains adaptor will be a dual voltage one so you'll need to pick one up over here if you want to charge it :D

UK mains adapters can be had quite cheaply and will work just fine with a US DS lite. With the right cable you can also charge them up from a USB port. :D

I got my mum a red & black DS lite last xmas.. ordered on the 10th December it arrived 4 days later and they even supplied an after market UK mains adapter with it and didn't take out the US on either. :)

Pick up a UK mains charger, or UK lite? ;)

Okay, so games, not a prob [at all, *cough* ;)] and a UK mains charger will work without problem on the US console?

Excellent. Some nice colours in the US, I've not seen over here...

:edit: Cheers chaps.

should be fine mate.

Well, NY trip didn't transpire, but I picked up a DS Lite for £80 in Asda yesterday. :)

Have you seen the new ds lite?! Camera, Music and a bigger screen woooooooooo

I know its the other way round but I took my DS lite on holiday to the US last month and my UK charger worked fine at 110v. I checked the charger for dual voltage info and it only stated 230v but it worked fine in the US and I used it several times. All I used was a socket adapter UK to US so the voltage would have still been 110v.

The charger is still working fine now I am back in the UK.

And regionally locked games, and no GBA game capability...
