Kerbed VRS alloys....

Featured Replies

The wife (honest) has managed to scrap both nearside 18" alloys on my VRS.

Anyone got any recommendations as who to use for repairs, or are none of them really worthwhile?

I'm assuming the Halfords offer of £65 for alloy damage involves lots of touch up paint and little else?

The best bet would be to look for a specialist in your area. I was quoted £65 by a specialist near Swansea recently for a scrape on my wheel. For this they would fill the scrape, sand it back and then respray the entire wheel. The only thing was they needed the wheel without the tyre. I have no idea what Halfords offer though I would suspect that they will use an outside agency (I have heard some of the chip repairers for paint work also do wheels too) so the job may not be that bad!!!

Would you be up for having a go at DIY? I did two of mine a few months back and it really wasn't very hard. Some chemical metal and Halford's diamond silver paint and a bit of patience.

I'm an amateur at best but you'd have to look very hard to see the repair, and it cost me less than £15 (and plenty left to do all the wheels again if needed in the future).

Try someone like wicked wheels they will come to you and do a proper job if there not mullered!!! there not that over priced either and thats all they do normally the results are like new!!!
