Creaking noise

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have got a damned annoying creak/ cracking noise coming from passenger side at the boot/ hatch area.It can be heard when you drive over uneven road or speed humps etc..Noise was there just after i bought car. Garage couldn't find it, then i noticed parcel shelf wasn't fixed properly. Noise appeared to go after that but it must have just been a coincedence as noise is there again.ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

Are you sure it's the rear?

There's a very long thread about my front suspension noises which you'd find with a search

Also there is a long thread about door seals creaking.

I've had two creaks in the passenger/boot area.

If you've got leather seats or part leather such as the VRS the passenger seat bolster might rub on the door and make a bit of a noise. Dealer put some leather cleaner on the seat and some plastic cleaner stuff on the door. Stopped that one.

The other creak I had came from the boot lid cover. More specifically around the centre brake light. Best way I found to emulate it was to push on the glass around the light. Never found the fix for it, however it went away with time.

Goodluck finding it, I know how irritating it can be.
