HELP! - VRS Mind of its own!

Featured Replies

This morning whilst driving to work my indicator lights came on solid and my wipers started moving by themselves, also various lights came on my dashboard, i had my lights on and when i parked up and turned the lights off there was a constant clicking sound inside the car?. I had the keys out a good 5 minutes when eventually everything stopped? I then locked the car and unlocked the car and it started again for another 2-3 minutes? It seems it stops and starts when the cooling fan stops and starts. Has anyone else had this issue, and does anyone think its gonna be a costly job?

Sounds like a loose connection. First thing I would look at is the earth point behind the panel with the headlight switch on it. It's the domed nut on the left of the relays, with the brown wire leading to it.

Well i've taken it to a Skoda Specialist local to my work whilst on my break and hopefully it wont cost too much, fingers crossed.

Well, my first thought was "electrics", so I'd agree it's most likely a bad earth. If it's not, it's gonna be expensive!

Well ive just had a phone call from the place i took the car and they've now directed me to another place called "Florys" which is also local to me. But they have confirmed its a earth issue. I finnish work in 15 mins so i'm heading to Florys.

At least they didn't refer you to a priest to get it exorcised... thats when you know your in the poop

Nah. The problems really start when you forget to pay the exorcist, and he has your car reposessed! ;)
