2.0T Max power available?

Just bee reading some articles on the KTM X bow and was wondering what sort of power levels people have managed witht he 2.0t engine as most people seem to dislike the engine which i would imagine is fairly simple to osrt but how far can you go with the engine???

I haven't met anyone who dislikes the 2.0T yet. There are some niggly issues that need sorting if your looking for more power, primarily the fuel pump but other than that, the sky's the limit.

There is a 385bhp "daily driveable" kit available from APR as well as other solutions from the likes of REVO etc.

I think it's an amazing motor, tweaked it gives good fuel consumption, the torque of a diesel and great BHP :thumbup:

I saw one recently at a rolling road session that made a reasonable 265hp and around 320lbft with the standard turbo.

The owner did think it was quite a nice drive and pretty nippy. He also did say that the claims made by some tuners are a little ambitious but the driveability is very good.

Like Fluff says, it's a fabulous engine. I think only time will reveal its fully tuned potential.

I believe the 385 bhp attained is on standard engine internals too?

so the people who are winging about the engine in the KTM could be corrected by some well spent money on the engine. should be interesting to see what development people get upto with them.

Hmm I think 385 may be a little ambitious, but I thought that included different injectors and a revised/strengthened cam?

Anyway, on standard internals with the KO3 turbo we have seen it topped out at around 285bhp with 320ft/lbs but it would be difficult to achieve more as the injectors are running to the maximum capacity along with the turbo!

As for bigger turbo set ups I'm sure there is more to come especially as cars come out of warranty periods, the US has seen some pretty impressive setups being developed so I'd say it was only a matter of time.

I suppose in theory you are right in saying they are bolt on components but the injectors are a pig to do apparently as the front end needs dismanting and involves 'breaking' something (can't remember what though :o), also needs a specialist tool too so its a little more than 'bolt on' parts!

they are still technically bolt on even they are a **** to fit :D

when people say bolt on they mean they don't have to take the engine apart to fit it :thumbup:

tbh i'd expect the injectors to be more difficult on the Tfsi as its direct injection :)

the crossbow uses the S3 motor to iirc, so has strengthened internals, ooops I mean Cupra motor :o

noise and power, more power makes it more exciting to most, and exhaust i would of though would solve some of the problem but turbo cars never make the greatest sound as the turbo reduces it.

I have to say i have heard small petrol engines with very little bhp give a nicer sound when revved compared to the 2.0 T. The 2.0 T doesn't have that nice "hummm" on the overrun
