A while back I asked for ideas for iPhone applications and you kindly helped out by offering some recomendations but I fell out of favour with it and its been in my drawer for a while!

Im now using the iPhone as a work tool and its come into its own but was wondering if there was any new stuff worth looking at or downloading and where you suggest I might find new and useful applications?

I believe you can use it to make conversation with people who may be too far away for you to talk directly to them, however, I understand that the other person also needs a similar device! Hope this helps!

Fring - use your MSN account and Skype etc through one simple app

AroundMe - Tells you whats around you, restaraunts, cash points, pubs you name it, click on an entry it gives you the phone number and plots a route to it in maps

GPSTracker - If you have a 3g, then this will track your Iphone and you can use a web browser to see where your iphone is, useful when the mrs needs to know hos far away you are when on the road (ok ... maybe that's not so good LOL)

Ifooty - Track all the latest news on your team, leagues, tables etc etc

Airsharing - Use WiFi to copy files over to your Iphone through a web browser, I use it to dump PDF's and spreadsheets etc on mine

Rev Lite - Uses the accelerometer to work out BHP, acceleration and G in the car .... fun

Igolf - Play golf with your Iphone, you actually swing with the phone in your hand and you can play full courses, you look a knob playing it, but it is a lot of fun

Ibowl - as above, bowling using the iphone accelerometer, just like Wii bowling

Traffic Info - Gives UK traffic info and notifies of Jams closures etc

Ebay app - Links back to your ebay account and gives you control of bidding / auctions etc

LOLCats - gives you a daily dose of LOLCat pics

LOLDogs - as above but with canines

Revmovem - an Iphone clone of Jawbreaker from Windows mobile, works the same way

So what does it do on yer iPhone?

DMX is the protocol used to control intelligent (moving) lights which are used at concerts, gigs, conferences etc. DMX addresses being made up of binary combinations.

I could control these lights with my iPhone if I were to buy the app and appropriate hardware to get it to work. It's a bit uneccessary as we use Avolites lighting desks at work which are the bees nees.

So really useful then! :P

...but it's just a cool thing you 'could' do with the iPhone.

A nice one to have is the iPint app free on appstore, its the lager pint that you can 'drink' quite a decent trick to do on people.
