Which bolt-on turbo for PD100? + a few?

Featured Replies

Hi...

I`m currently looking into how to increase the power of my 1.9 TDI PD100 AXR Fabia.

Am i right in thinking that a PD130 Turbo is a straight bolt-on? Other alternatives that will bolt straight on?

I`m looking for around 170-180 bhp, and have read a little on the subject.

Would a new turbo, FMIC, new clutch and a remap get me around the 170-180 mark?

It`s not something to be done right now, but within the next 2 years or so.

Any good tips and suggestions regarding parts etc. are very welcome.

Yes it would. but if you plan to keep the car for some time, and tuning it is going to be an ongoing thing, I would plan to get a VNT17 hybrid, rather than a straight vnt17 (pd130) turbo. :)

You will really need pd130/pd150 injector units as well to achieve 180 odd hp.

Aha, Mr. PD100 ;)

Yeah, plan on keeping the car for another 4 years.

I want to keep it as cheap as possible - not made of money, and parts and labour are pretty expensive in Denmark.

How many bhp can i make on std. injectors?

How many bhp can a hybrid handle compared to a std VNT17?

Around 160 is the max on stock nozzles, even with the biggest turbo, PD100 nozzles do not fuel much at all.

Hybrid turbo can go to 220-225bhp, compared to stock one which will max out around 180. Obviously the bigger the hybrid the more power it will take. All depends on the internals really.

Hmm, this is going to end up being pretty expensive. :(

Best to keep an eye out on the second hand market. The euro rate at the moment I expect makes buying things in UK a bit cheaper. Off the top of my head

PD130 injectors - £250 (second hand) at most

PD130 turbo - £250-£300 for low miles, VGC.

strong clutch for 5 speed - £500 (performance clutch & flywheel)

Fabia FMIC - circa £500.

Remap - not sure, that depends on your local facilities.

Edit : This VW,Audi,Seat,Skoda 1,9 TDI cylinder head with injectors on eBay, also, Volkswagen, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 16-Oct-08 17:27:48 BST)

would be quite a cool upgrade. :) Remove your head, fit this one, use your pd100 wiring loom for the injectors and straight away you have a pd130 (stronger ;)) top end complete.

We have Danish Kroner, not Euro`s. ;)

Don`t have the money atm, just wanted to know what parts i needed.

There`s a large danish VAG forum, so will hunt for used parts on there.

Might have to order the Forge FMIC from UK, but we`ll see.

Thanks very much for your help and knowledge.
