Dv Relocation

Featured Replies

hello can anyone shed some light on this, as i have a bailey dump valve on mine, its really quite,

went on the forge motorsports website and they do the relocaton kit

has any1 done this mod? and is it worth while?

and will my bailey dv fit if i relocate it or do i have to buy a new dv?

and how can you tell if its resirc or blowoff?

sorry bout all the questions just want to get it right;)

It should be a recirculating DV like my Bailey DV30 below. Why do you want to relocate it?

I have the Forge DV Relocation kit on mine (the blue pipe coming from the back of the engine round by the throttle body at the front and different intercooler to throttle body pipe)

In theory, it lets the dv work at a lower temperature, as it keeps it away from the hot turbo area of the engine, which means the air it dumps back in will be cooler. How much cooler, I have no idea. I'm running a Forge SPLT-R DV which is both atmospheric and recirculating so it keeps the engine management happy and makes the whoosh noise when you lift off. Not very loud though.

As for whether your bailey would fit with the kit, I don't see any reason why not if it fits with the standard pipework.

As for whether relocation is worth it, maybe, maybe not, you proberbly wouldn't notice again gains with it alone. It looks pretty cool though!

Dont bother is the normal advice.

All it does is move the DV to the cold side rather than the hot side. Your DV will be a recirc and has to be otherwise it can cause problems. If you want noise then add a CAI as this will give you the noise your after.

I run and eBay CAI with a Bailey DV30 and its more than loud enough

i got the same kit, it doesnt seen to have done anything, except add soem more blue to the engine bay

just need the jabba induction now LOL

You might notice a slight difference with the recirc kit if you were using an FMIC and the conditions were hot. The air being recirculated would then be noticeably colder than the normal intake air because the DV is relocated to just after the intercooler. In normal use though I doubt it makes any difference and from what I can remember these kits are pricey for what they are :thumbdwn:

thanxs guys that gives me a much better insight, and the pics aswell excellent i will compare to my dv 2mora as mines hiden under that cover, thanxs again every1

ian

i wonder with the dv being further away from the intake would it still be as good:confused:..as the air has further to travel

im fitting my forge 007 tomorrow:D

the kit is dear for ehat you get, i even ordered a extra length of the 25mm and the vacum pipe to make it sit neater ,

they only give you 1 lenght and want you to cut to pieces of to use as the blank and bit that goes from DV to a elbow ....... if i remember

you can cut up the old bit of pipe from the back in all fairness, but i already had blue hoses and didnt want to be evil LOL

i also now have a blue version of the main pipe to the throttle bodies :orb_bonk:

im sure thats about 70 quids worth of my blue hose kits ? :orb_lol:

and least i can now see my shiny DV
