Boot sill protector

Featured Replies

As the plastics in the Octavia boot seem to be made entirely of Easy Scratch Plastic I was thinking of getting one of those boot sill protector thingies for my Octy Estate.

I will be putting a lot of big boxes and stuff in the boot that need to be slid into place (fileservers, UPSs, rack mount kit :o)

I see that Milotec do one but the picture on their website is pants. Also I'm sure I've seen a pic of a chrome one somewhere but I can't think where! (Might be a bit expensive, that anyway)

Do Skoda do one? Does anyone have any pics of any type fitted to their car?

Dunno Rob but I know what you mean about the plastics. One weekend away camping and the boot looks like a bomb site. I'd be interested to know what you turn up.

Might be another GB opportunity ;)

Do they do one for the slighty shorter Octy too?

MY mountain bike is punishing the boot plastic in mine..............(and the Morrisons run doesn't do much goos either)

I'd like to see a pic with the boot open!

JHM Butts do a rubber boot line, but no mention of a sill protector!

ummmmm......

I agree about boot plastics. Just bought a mint 04 Octi BUT the boot had more scratches than mileage (57k!)

Trick I learned from my panel beater son for reviving plastic bumpers on my Tranny motorhome. Very gental use (on low heat), hot air gun. Be careful and move boot carpet etc away. We also had a very bad scratch on the glove box lid. Took it out completely.

Take it slowly!!!!

I managed to get a new plastic boot trim when my garage resprayed the tailgate and bolted it back on in the wrong place and bust my old one :-) Not the long term solution though! I am still trying to remove collie and husky hair from the carpet sides (over the wheel arches) in the boot too :-(

This is the second really old thread today... is someone reading from the wrong end of the forums?!

Anyone know where to get a rear bumper protector for octavia mk 1 hatch. They only seem to cater for later models.

Rob, get some clear Lamin-x. That way you don't have to spend loads on something extra and you can keep the corrida red standing proud.

I think they do a thicker version than normal from what I have read so will be good for this job. Could do the whole bumper incase you have a mishap whilst loading.
