Octavia vRS alloys on the Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Just a quick question - Will the Octavia vRS alloys fit straight onto a Fabia vRS (with lower profile tyres, of course)?

Some pics would be nice, if anybody has some.

Cheers,

Jon

Yes and you have to put 40s on instead of 50s I think.

Cheers!

They do look nice.

17s generally look good on a Fabia - even non vRS ones.

17s & a suspension drop works wonders.

All I need now is a Fabia & some 17s!

Even the oval ones didn't look too bad :D

I thought my previous car looked really nice on 17s and lowered - shame how it ended up though - as you witnessed first hand Mr Spinndrift! :o

It did look the dogs danglies - new ones not bad either though.

Well - if you're a VAG enthusiast you'll prefer the old OZ alloys which I had above, but I like the league tantrums too though. Can't be bothered to IMG another piccie - I'm off to grab myself some Friday fish & chips. :D

Friday is food free lunch round here.

Liquid lunch all round :D

But surely running a car on wheels its not designed for could potentially spoil the ride and handling.

Anyway, if I was going to put 17s on a Fabia, I'd put the ones from the new Ibiza Cupra on, the ones Ross Clarke used to have on. I thought they looked ace.

I hope I'm detecting a little sarcasm in that... ;)

Can't comment for the vRS but for me going from 14" steels, to 17s has vastly improved cornering ability and general road handling. It feels better poised thanks to reduced sidewall flex. Oh, and it looks better too. :D

17"s with 205/40/17 firm up the ride a little bit and improves the handling nicely

They look so cool, oh and compliments on the very shiny paintwork too! I bought my Fabia Vrs in silver so not sure how white will go with the paintwork.

Having had the std 16" wheels, and two sets of 17's I think the Fabia should have come on 17's as standard, ride if perfectly fine if not improved and tyres are much better with 40 profile.

TT rims...

SEAT Rims....

Still prefer the TT rims, old ones would have looked better on a brighter car i think.

Ross, Am I correct in thinking that the SEAT rims were the european spec 17s?

I always thought the Leon Cupra R wheels were 18s (this was before the Ibiza Cupra TDI was available).

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

Yup your spot on mate.

Were/are available through Skoda dealer, but pretty pricey.

bl00dy hell, Ross, that's a seriously shiny car.

or have you got a special camera. :D

jonno(not very shiny car).

Im just a bit fanatical about cleaning it.

Not overly happy at the moment, I used a new polish last weekend and under bright direct sunlight theres quite a few swirl marks now :(

And some buggers dented my drivers door (usual banging door into it in a car park). Not to bad, got dentmaster having a look see.

Can't believe how much bigger new car wheels are getting - noticed an Escort RS Turbo today next to a TT on 18's. The RS wheels were tiny!

Ross, TT rims look seriously nice.

ross, what do u use to clean and polish ur furby?

To clean I use Halfords car wash

To polish I had been using Zymol but found that to be very dusty, now have some trick glaze polish to try that my valeter mate gave me.
