Headlamp height adjusters

Featured Replies

On the way home tonight from work noticed my right hand h/lamp was lower than the l/hand tried turning the internal adjuster wheel but to no avail neither headlamp moved up or down. Before i dive under the bonnet tomorrow can any one let me know how they work, I guess from memory last time i noticed there were 2 long cables? running to each lamp from behind the dash. And how does the rotary knob come out of the dash. Or am i wrong and they are vacuum operated? Cheers for any ideas :(

They are actuated hydraulically with a special anti-freeze type solution. Problem is this tends to leak out, and the entire unit needs to be replaced (cannot be refilled). In my opinion this is likely to cost more to sort out than the benefit you'll get from it. But if this has left your headlights too dipped I believe you have to remove the actuators (they remove a bit like a bayonet light bulb) and use a screwdriver in the hole vacated to adjust them up.

Cheers anewman will check it out tmorrow:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

You should hopefully be able to adjust your headlights manually even if the internal adjuster has broken (you're not alone, there are only a few happy Felicia owners that have a functioning one. Mine works on one side only :P )

For each headlight there are two big white plastic nuts under the bonnet for adjustment. IIRC the outer one is for height adjustment, the inner for horizontal. You'll need a small hand for the outer one on the driver's side where you have to squeeze in between the headlight and the air intake.
