 Yeah, they had a rag-rolled (I Kid you not) Clio V6 parked up outside, so I'm aware of the chav-friendly status, but I wondered if the work they did was of a professional quality.

tbh never found a stereo place that was "really good" they all seem geared up for chavs.

why not buy the kit on line and fit yourself?

Used them loads of times, can heartedly recommend them

Your right about them not being cheap, but the quality of their work is excellent.

Great guys and really helpful

You will have no problems with them I can assure you

regards

Damian

I haven't anything done by them but have inquired for parts before, although a lil pricey...they are very polite and proffesional over the phone.

Good quality work from what ive seen done on other peoples cars.

There is Technicar on Abbeydale road, that do alarm fitting and stereo fittings.

Going to have a Clifford Thatcham Cat1 fitted soon by them at the cost of £350 all in.

Not entirely sure if thats a good price or not, but my friends had an alarm from them and the fit is very professional.

Abbeydale Road's a bit far for me, I only live 5 minutes away from Source, so I'm saving on petrol!

LOL! Fair enough, abbeydale road is further for me also.

But i'll probably be still going there!

source are one of the best in the uk by a long way imo! and i would recommend them to anyone. yes there are a lot of chavvy cars there but that's what brings them the business.

there where few others I would recommend who could compete with them as most hae stopped trading in car audio and gone into home audio as there is a lot more money in it.

and remember you get what you pay for with it and always have recommendation from experienced people!

Let me know how you get on with them.

I tried them a few years ago for an alarm and when i said that i didnt want a proximity sensor fitted then turned off so wasnt impress with them but i know that others have been happy with their stuff

So whats the story so far pal?

Did they do a spot on job?

They did a really good job! they spent two days trying to get round the Jeep's integrated alarm / imobiliser that some daft chuff had messed about with. They managed it eventually after the garage I had the Jeep serviced at had failed. I still have to use the Jeep's keyfob to deactivate the imobiliser, but I'm happy with that, it's extra security if the keys fall into the wrong hands!;)

The stereo works really well and all the cables are hidden away in the glove box. The alarm flashing light thing is very blue and very bright, but that's not their fault.

Can't fault the service, kept me informed and spent a good 45minutes explaining how to work everything.

I will use them again in future, and would recommend them to others.

Source's cars compete in national competitions and having seen some of thier work, the quality is great. :)

I was pleasently suprised by there pricing the other day, £490 for Clifford 650MK2 Cat 1 Alarm with Tilt Sensors.

Talking to them over the phone was very polite and of a professional manner, and would praise them for that!

I then phoned Technicar and they said £350 for the alarm and a further £25 for the Tilt Sensor Fitting....which is at cost price of the tilt sensor.

Know a couple of people who've used Technicar and seem to give good results, so mines going in on saturday morning to be done.

The saxo i know of that has the clifford is falling apart around it hahaha.
