Since I took the car to do a service recently, it has been behaving sluggish at very odd/unpredictable times, after i had it back. There seems to be a a loss of power and inability to accelerate as expected.

It seems that this happens if i press the gas pedal a bit harder i.e i take to the high rev range quickly. If i drive like i was in driving school then the car seems OK.

Any idea what this might be?

I have exactly the same problem, also a Fabia 1.4. 16V Elegance 100BHP (52 plate): accelerator/acceleration is intermittently sluggish/unresponsive and the pedal needs to be floored to get any real response.

Potentially dangerous if quick response is needed so also keen to know any ideas about the causes.
