Hi, and advice please. (Octy 2.0 TD vs VRS)

Featured Replies

Hi there

I am posting here as I am brand new to Skodas.

Having done some reserach on paper, I have come to the conclusion that a Skoda Octavia could well be a great company car for me.

I have booked a test drive for next weekend on a VRs (2.0 CRD) and a 2.0 140 TDI model.

However, I was wondering what differences I should be looking out for with the test drive?

Also, does anyone here have any experiences with the two different cars (id be looking for one of the top 2 trims on the standard Octavia). I am particularly interested in what people think of them as long distance / high mileage cars, as I will be doing about 25Kmiles a year for my new job.

Lastly - I sat in both models, the VRs sport seats were quite unforgiving at the sides on the thighs. Does the leather give a bit in time?

Im not a fat guy, but im 6'4'' and proportionately medium build and my legs were on the edges of the seats. I was probably more comfortable in the standard seating.

Thanks for the initial advice if any comes :)

I will endeavour to read up more before next weekend.

Welcome to briskoda.

The one big differance is the 2.0tdi pd 140bhp is an old pump dus design, where as the 2.0tdi CR 170bhp is the new commen rail design.

So in terms of actually driving it will I notice a massive difference in performance?

Also- any comments on the seats especially the sport ones would be awesome

can you tell me a bit more about the engine differences CR vs PD?

Thanks for your help.

Hello and welcome. I expect you will notice the CR engine to be smoother, and the PD engine will be a bigger shove in the back when accelerating hard.

Welcome :)

I'm a big guy and found the vRS seats really supportive and comfortable...

Welcome :)
