Skoda Fabia WRC takes 6th and 8th in Finland

Featured Replies

Driving a Skoda Fabia World Rally Car, Jani Paasonen has finished sixth overall at the Rally Finland while team-mate, Toni Gardemeister, has taken eighth overall. Great result for Skoda at the top end of the sport!

Just noticed, Armin Schwarz finished 12th in the Fabia WRC.

Good result but did you notice that there was next to no TV coverage of either of them?... They seemed to be concentrating on the Peugeots and Fords!

some things never change...

Consistant finishes in the top 8 and they soon will I hope....

Well done Eurosport.

In fairness Eurosport have always given Skoda more time than the English stations.

Possibly because Skoda isn't contesting the full championship this year.

What a difference between Eurosport and ITV coverage of the Skoda team.

Not only did ITV fail to mention the Innmarsat award to Passonen at all but they just had to make cheap comments about "fancy a Citroen nearly being beating by a Skoda". Infact when going through the leader board at one point they missed out the Skoda position entirely in their commentary.

Eurosport also used their replay overlay thingy to highlight the Fabia as being up with and faster than some of the leaders.
