Cranes of Marsham

Featured Replies

I have in the past dealt with Cranes garage. I remember them saying that they always have breaking Estelles/Rapids and that they bought up all of the original Skoda (Kings Lynn) spares. I purchaces some original Skoda workshop tools from them and many small trim parts in the past.

Recently I dealt with them again, but speaking with Mr Crane himself this time (I used to deal with Glynn). To me, he seemed a bit odd and the prices had risen severalfold from what I used to be charged. I was contemplating a trip to Cranes, but am now unsure if this is wise.

What is the actual garage like? Has it gone downhill or is it OK?

I never hear about it, so any info welcome.

To be honest, I tried getting some parts from them myself for a friend in Hungary - he wanted badges for his Rapid RiC.The chap, Mr.Crane, was very abrupt, and didn't seem to care either way whether he sold them to me or not.I also found his prices to be totally extortionate.(£25 for a badge that goes on the door of a Rapid !!!!!) Needless to say, I didn't bother buying. He also didn't seem to know what badge I meant and we went round in circles for days explaining that there had only ever been one badge on the door of the Rapid, black writing on a silver background etc.The 135i badge was also a 'problem' as he didn't understand what I meant by 'it goes on the rear lip spoiler next to the 'rapid' badge.

Another friend bought some parts and after 6 weeks they didn't turn up and they didn't want to know.

I always recommend CPMS in Peterborough now, I know Chris well, he's an old neighbour of mine, and he's a great guy to deal with for RWD Skoda parts.01733 324251.
