Radio backlight

Featured Replies

I have a Stream MP3 in a 2007 and cannot work out how to get the backlight to work with the lights and ignition off. The backlight does work with the sidelights light on. I'm sure it must be in the manual somewhere but can I find it:confused:

I thought that they only switched on the backlight with the car lights.

I think the backlight only comes on with sidelights or headlights. In the menu you can have the option of the light around the on/off/volume knob on when the lights are not on.

moley is correct, as ive tried to find away to put the back light on at all times but the only option is to either have the lights on side or dip.

I am sure there is an option in the stream to have the backlight on at all times. I am sure on mine there are 3 options for the backlight with one of them being that it is on all the time.

Just checked the options on the stream radio, Menu, 2nd page top left illum1 or illum2. This only relates to the light around the on/off volume knob.

This is not difficult to do if you really want it.

Remove the Green/Blue wire and the insert from the 8 pin radio connector and insulate it. Place a new insert and wire in its place and connect it to the circuit you want.

On the same connector there is a switched (ignition) and unswitched supply

Beware - not on all units! Take a look at the pinouts on Stu's website (bottom of this page Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide)
