THULE roof bars??

Featured Replies

I have just fitted our new roof bars to our Furby, using the 753 footback, 3003 adaptor kit and the 860 bars.

Has anyone else got these fitted? I'm a little surpised that the feet are visable once the covers are on wondered if I have the wrong stuff.

Cheers

What do you mean by feet? I've got some skoda ones (apparently made by Thule) and the cover hides all the grubbins. Could you post a photo?

The part that locks into the roof. Having done some surfing it looks like some dealers sell the 751 feet for the Fabia and some the 753.

Ill post a pic tom now as its a little dark now, you got a pic of yours?

Cheers

No pics from me I'm afraid. However the plastic cover sits snuggly against the bodywork, so the 'feet' aren't visible beneath this, and also covers the sides completely.

It does sound like you might have wrong parts.

EDIT: Thule's website states 753 should be used

I know from the Thule site its the 753 pack but the 3003 pack says "for use with 751" on it so i've emailed Thule and the supplier I bought from.

Not happy with the fit so will send em back if thats the best it can be.

Cheers

yep, afraid they're the wrong type :o As a comparison my covers are much flatter and as said sit flush against the roof. Hopefully the supplier will exchange them.

* asdie. nice water beading photos :D

Because I'm stuck inside waiting for the rain to stop I thought I'd take a photo of the skoda covers / clamps so you can compare. Ok they're not attached the car but I'm sure you can see the difference.

Excuse the quality of the pics - taken from phone

By the looks of the things the 753 foot pack is a recent addition to the range. The 751 was the correct part for a few years now.

When I bought my bars a few years ago, the 751 was the correct option, but having looked since, it now states the 753 as the correct option.

Mine fit the same as ACSC's and never had a problem. I guess they're just trying to lesson the gap between the rook and footpack with the new 753 pack. Personally I wouldn't worry as I don't think you have the wrong parts at all. :)

The 753 Rapid Fit foot pack for vehicles with fixed roof rack mounting points is similar to the 751 but with a lower profile, having an overall height of only 6.5 cm from the car roof to the underside of the roof bar.

There was a thread on here a while back with photos of FastFabia's Fabia SE with the Thule bars, but he appears to have taken the pics down. I'm sure they fitted the same.
