Misfire at 30mph!

Featured Replies

Can anyone give any advice on my problem with my 2003 octavia vrs.It seems to have a misfire at around 1000-2000rpm more noticable in forth gear at 30mph when just touching accelarator pedal to maintain a constant speed. It is fine under load and to max revs.I have checked fault memory showing no faults.I have changed coil packs, dumpvalve, air flow meter, cleaned and basic set throttle body, checked for air leaks, spark plugs, sensor in inlet manifold just after throttle body, temp sensor. All with no luck! Any advice would be much appreciated.

My guess would be a faulty injector. You could try a bottle of injector cleaner.

I would have thought a misfire would show up with vagcom? are you sure its not just a flat spot as from what I have been reading it seems to be a common fault - often fixed (or made worse) by remap.

As karlbar2k said, probably just a flat spot. Mine does it too at about 1800 revs especially if the gear is a bit too high for the speed (30mph in 4th instead of 3rd or 20mph in 3rd instead of 2nd) I would describe it as more of a stutter than a misfire
