Battery died...?

Featured Replies

Hi, driving down the motorway and battery light comes on, few miles later stereo fails and then everything else follows, engine still runs and just about make it to where im going, 80 miles from home. I'm told it could be battery or alternator and will get breakdown cover out in the morning. Any ideas? its 2002 Octy 1.9SDI. Also, what will cost be? Thanks.

Happened to me mate, twas the Alternator.

Can't remember the cost, but it's not recomended as a DIY job ,,,, unless your a Gynaecologist !!!!

Skoda dealer price, shop around is your best bet.

Very bizarrely, the morning after the car started fine and everything worked, managed to get it home with a flashing battery light, got it to garage and he thinks its alternator but its about £90 so not too bad.

Thanks.
