Alfa Romeo MiTo?

Featured Replies

Morning everyone.

Some of you may know that we are a Skoda/Alfa Romeo showroom, and we've had our first MiTo turn up this morning.

It's quite a funky little thing and it looks better in the flesh than in the Alfa Romeo press photos for some reason. It looks trendy from the front and just looks pretty cool from the back. The spec seems good and the price tag is aimed squarely a Mini drivers looking to replace.

Anyway, does anyone from here have an interest in the car and want me to take some photos?

Also give us your feedback of what you think of the looks of the new car. If we post this on the Alfa owners forum they'll all just say they love it because they're biased, you guys can be honest!

Saw it in what car and thought it looked smart.

Alfa has one of the greatest grills whatever model of Alfa sporting it

I saw it a the motorshow and took some pics alongside its big brother, the 8C. It's a fantastic looking little thing, even though it's a bit chunkier around the haunches than you'd expect. My only concerns were that there was a bit too much Fiat feel in the interior, which has always been one of the best features of any Alfa, and that static the gearbox felt a bit flappy. The disclaimer here is that I too am a huge Alfa fan :)

I'll get some of my show pics up later today.

Is it just me that thinks the car is called a Me Too?

I gather it's an amalgam of Milan and Torino, so the 'o' should probably be even shorter.

Piccies as promised :)

I'm 99% sure I saw one whilst on holiday in Greece in early September. I remembered it because the fugliness of the thing nearly made me crash.

Alfa make beautiful cars but this isn't one of them :thumbdwn:

Fair enough, but I still get the impression that if the car is aimed at mini and you have the mini and the 500, it's going to get known as alfa's Me Too. This goes doubly if it doesn't live up to expectation.

I'm thinking of that ugly dihatsu with the removable hard top myself and I agree very fugly.

I must admit I didn't like it one bit in the press photos and the brochures but in the flesh it's quite a nice looker, it looks fresh, fun, young and exciting which I think is what Alfa wanted.

But it isn't as cool as a Fabia 2.0......

Your not a dealer are you James:rolleyes:

Not for Alfa I'm not.

But I actually am starting to like it. I don't like the Brera because it doesn't handle well and the performance is so far behind an Octavia vRS it's amusing.

Here's a photo of it.

I have always been a fan of Alfa's. This one isn't bad, but it doesn't float my boat. In order of preference for the three cars mentioned above, I would go for:

1. Mini

2. Alfa

3. Fiat

there were quite a few left hookers with foreign plates on at Oulton Park last weekend , locked up in the race assembly area, except one which was in the scrutineering bay with a smashed rear screen

wasn't overly impressed myself

I like it :)

The dealer launch was at Oulton Park all week.

It'll grow on you, and the advertising campaign will drive you mad.

no...

no!

No!!

NO!!!!

I don't like it.

Quite like the Alfa, but still like the 2.0i

better :D

Why when I look at that expression on the front of the car do I think of that guy in a corset and his penis in the exhaust?????

Fugly just doesnt cover it.

I don't like it but isn't one of these mito's stupidly quick? What I overheard was as quick as the 8c I think over 50 to 70... or something like that.

They are going to bring out a GTA model which is supposed to have a 1.8T engine producing 250bhp.... That'll be ridiculous then.

Looked good when I checked it out at the motorshow especially when you get to chat to beautiful Italian women as well, the Alfa girls were stunning.:)

I requested info and it looks good in the brochure but it got very average reports from the u.k press when they drove it. The 1.4 turbo sounds a great engine but 150 bhp from a 1.4 sounds a little too stressed to me. I would probably save a bit more for a Cooper S.

I quite like the look of it from the photo's I've seen and really want to see one in the flesh, don't think I'll be able to convince SWMBO to get one though... she likes the new Fiesta in pink.

the Alfa girls were stunning.:)

Amen, brother :)

I was encouraged to stay on that stand a bit longer than usual for that very reason, despite an extremely sweet and chatty young lady on the SEAT section. Even the Hyundai girls with their free icepops couldn't match Alfa ;)

the advert I had seen was just before the Bond movie last night! with technologic as the tune that went with a load of graphics...went on forever thooo!! brainwashing everyone to go and buy one haha!

it looks but but also looks really odd....its just too flabby! :o

isnt it bravo size? or is it based on the punto platform?

they need a scirroco style one then that would be mint!:D

Don't like the press shots, looks horrid. But that shot outside the showroom, in a dark hue, looks alright. Still not really a looker from the front though.

Is it these bloody EU pedestrian safety regs messing up the front of cars these days? Pedestrians - just get out of the way!:mad:
