DVLA Sealed Bid Sale

Featured Replies

Did anyone else give this a try?

The auction finished this afternoon, but winners won't be confirmed until noon on Monday, so it looks like I will have to wait until then to see if I was successful.

no. never seen the appeal of a personalised no plate to be honest.

Looked at it,but didn't fancy anything.

What did you bid on?

WOR 516K

I asked the DVLA about it over 18 months ago, and as it has never been issued they said it would be considered for auction. Had to wait until now for it to come up - just hoping its good news on Monday

£400 reserve? That seems a bit steep given you were probably the only person to actually bid on it. Did you have to meet the reserve with the sealed bid?

  • Author

Yeah - had to meet the reserve and put a bit more on just to be sure. Would have been gutted if I had lost out for the sake of a few quid, and of course I'll never know whether there were other bids or not.

Not cheap but it will last a lifetime rather than one that is car specific - and I suppose I can even pass it onto one of the kids when I'm gone!

Is it your surname Andy?

Is it your surname Andy?

Yeah - relatively rare so I think I should stand a good chance of winning on it.

I think Andy though it was 'Worksick';)

Did you get it?

Looks like it was sold for £540 whoever got it.

Yes - its mine!

Paid my money online yesterday, so the DVLA should be sending me the V750 Certificate of Entitlement shortly.

What's the procedure when I get that?

Nice one Andy - know you'd been after that one for a while! Will certainly make the Fabia look even more different

Next step once you get the paperwork through is to visit your local DVLA office and get the tax disc changed and some more paperwork processed and then you'll get a revised V5 through from DVLA Swansea. Oh, and get some plates made up :D
