Hi Guys,

I have an Octavia 2 Elegance, bought new 2 months ago. There is a severe case of condensation in the front near side fog lamp and an occasional patch on the off side lamp. I have booked the car in at the dealers and they have suggested that rather than replace the lamps they usually dry them out and check the seals etc. I have carried out a search on the forum and nobody else seems to have experienced this.

Anyone got any advice re this?

IIRC there was a problem with condensation on early model octy headlights, but later model lights have a small vent which was supposed to fix it. Don't recall anything on foglights though. Sorry I can't help much (it is very dry and hot here in my part of Oz, so not much opportunity for misting in anything)

My vented headlights mist up.

That's exactly right. They check the seals to see if there's damage. If they're alright they dry out the condensation. There's a long thread on the mercedes forum about this very issue. Have you used a pressure washer on the car?? Why MB service/quality/customer service is so poor? - MBClub Forums
