I was told week 51. Perhaps the factory that makes the right-hand driven cars (yours) is a different one that the factory that makes the left-hand driven cars (mine)

Anyway, I think the only way we have to guess the truth is waiting until January :D

Alvaro, where is Spain are you? I am in Madrid

you are taking the "b-o-s" comment rather personally - are you an engine designer who was responsible for the 170CR design ??

Slightly off topic, but my ex brother-in-law initially designed the first CR engine for Ford back in the early 2000's. We can blame him for the "more power in the same engine" development as a result. And yes, he is a smug git.

its only a forum and forums are the place for airing our opinions.

Bravo, and well said. Even if I do disagree with you...... ;)

Black cars are too dark and show the dirt is also my opinion - i am sure plenty of you will buy black as you like it.

Choice of Black or Red. Last 5 cars I've owned were red, chose black, even though I knew it would be a bugger to keep clean. Wasn't really all that fussed with the other colours though.

Privacy glass will always be refered to as "drug dealer glass" by many people (inc me) on here.

Agreed. That said, I didn't go for the privacy glass, I got it custom done, and in Limo black instead. Looks far nicer, and yes, it does now look like a pimp's car.

have a nice weekend everyone - i am hoping for better news on the progress of my superb by monday (although i am not holding my breath !)

Fingers crossed, and hope it turns up sooner than expected. It is worth the wait (even if you did choose a god awful petrol engine) :P;):D

Sevilla, but because of my job I travel around Andalucia

Allams - sorry, been away and missed your question - mine is a 170CR SE with some toys, being built this week, delivered 19th December ish

ive ordered a 1.8tsi dsg superb and im told now it will be delayed until next february because the demand for this engine and transmission is very high at present

Look see ! told all you deisel buyers i was not the only mad person buying a petrol !!!

sorry about your delay although i do feel better that it has affected others and not just me - sorry if that sounds mean, what i am saying is that it shows it not down to some wacky options combination i have chosen. my build week is now wk50 which means it gets caught in the xmas shutdown !!

does beg the question why they dont get the demand vs supply equation sorted BEFORE they launch a new car though doesnt it !!

Maybe they thought every body and their dog would be ordering their superbs with a (almost as smooth as a petrol) diesel engine ?

More likely there is a limit to production of blocks or something (the 1.8 is also fitted to audis and possibly other VAG cars too).

BTW I test drove an octy with the 1.8 TFSI motor and I thought it was a lovely unit (but the vRS 2.0 TFSI was just a bit nicer overall package).

audi use the 1.8TFSi and skoda use the 1.8 TSi engine. i think they might be slightly different engines ?

Hi all I am new to this forum. Thank you all for the sharing the views and ideas

I have ordered 2.0 TDI CR DPF in zurich

Built 49 th week. Delivery don't know yet. Expecting before christmas. But not sure

Guys

Feel really sorry for the problems you guys are having. Guess I was really lucky getting mine quickly (it was one already about to go in production but unallocated and was lucky the spec was more or less what I wanted), and if it is any consolation it is an excellent car and have never been so impressed with a new car.

If you can, stick in there, it will be worth the wait in the end IMHO.

dont worry - not going to jump ship to another manufacturer just yet !!

we spent about 6-8 months test driving cars and getting more dissillusioned that we couldnt find one that ticked all the boxes. when the superb came along we were very pleased. the delay is dissapointing but we are still in a very nice car and dont have any desperate need to change to the superb - we simply want to change as we have had the audi for 6 years. have been given a build week of WK50 now. only 4/5 weeks later than i was told when i placed my order. not too bad i suppose !!

skoda Uk have redeemed themselves somewhat in responding to my emails quickly. they did bother to look into why my car had been delayed and emailed back with an answer - of course it doesnt change things and the reason i was given was exaclty what the dealer had found out but they did investigate and get back to me.

Hey Guys is there anybody from Switzerland here. Just to know if anybody received there car. :)

Hi Skoda-Man, Mine is also scheduled in the 49th week. 170PS/125kW 4 Zylinder TDI CR DPF Diesel -- Satin Grey. This is my first car. My wife and me are pretty much excited. Hope to get it before Christmas. ;-)

I closed the deal at September 10th, and I`ll take the new one (if produced...hopefully) in mid-january 2009. :D
