Anyone know this VRS?

Featured Replies

I've been looking for a VRS for a while now. I've had a think about Shifty's car. But its too powerful for my requirements (didnt think i'd ever say that!)

I've found a Black with Black leather forsale for just shy of £5000 its on a 54 plate - is this a good deal?

The guy is going to take my G40 in part-ex + cash

FSH - 77K - totally std - Black leather interior (factory fit) - £4995

Miles a tad on the high side but ones with leather are hard to find.

5 grand should get one with less than 50000 miles on and seat surgeons in York will fit leather for about £800:)

First registered 07.01.2005 and currently taxed until 01.07.2009 according to the DVLA website. No hits on Google with the numberplate.

Has the owner replaced the cambelt and water pump ??? As this is a costly job at 60,000 miles so what you take on the one hand you give from the other.

Hope you see my point on this. Skoda usually charge about £400 for this job doing.

Id have banter with the owner and negotiate with him as mileage is slightly high but do check to see if he has had the cambelt service done if not walk away cos you will be splashing out on it straight away.

So 1st things 1st ask him that and ask to see the service book ;)

Has it got a fssh? Could you get leather interior on a 54reg?

Milege is a bit high. I've done 70K and I wouldnt expect to get 5K for it and thats with a fssh.

All the "factory" leather was actually dealer fit, so possible to have it on any Fabia :)

Cambelt is due at 60k (originally it was 80k), so budget for that if its not been done.

It could be a good deal, depends on whether you are getting what you want for the G40 - the car market is fecked at the moment, so it could well be in your favour to do the swap. :)

Just make sure its done and not just a stamp as people have mates that are willing to get stuff done to help a mate if you get me.

Just dont trust what he says mate get solid proof :)

Why was it originally 80 - but now its 60K????

I want a minimum of £2000 for my G40 - but he's offereing me £1500 for my car and £3500 cash. Leaving me with £500 to play with for wheels or suspension mods. If I sold my g40 first and waited for another car it would give me maybe £1000 to play with on a £5000 car.

Car market is a bit messed up, but i'd be making a £500 loss! :(

rather keep the g40 lol!

Just spoke to the dealer - he hasnt checked the service history - so cant be sure. He just took it as red that it was due at 80K. If its been done at skoda for its full service then it should have been done. He's going to let me know tomorrow - seen as he doesnt have to do the waterpump and timing belt at £400 - does that mean I get a £400 discount?????????

Very much doubt it because if its been done then it immediately becomes a more desirable car and therefore worth more than it was before when he thought the belt hadn't been changed. Consequently no/less discount.

It is Skoda dealer fit leather.

I would ask for a 'contribution' toward getting the Belt done if it hasn't been. Although the water pump is a common sense change when doing the belt it isn't essential.

Dealer is going to get back to me later! Fingers crossed!

Should I go with this one and ask for a few £££ off due to slightly high mileage - or should I hold onto my cash and try and get a lower mileage one, all be it without leather?????

Waterpump and timing belt definatley havent been done - its going to Skoda next Wednesday for it - total cost to the dealer £635 inc full 80K service!

Should be worth £4995 now???

its only worth what someone wants to pay,

what would YOU be happy paying for it? its easy for us to say yeah 5k for it becuase its not had the cambelt done or the 80k service,

you must have a price in your head which is the most you want to pay and the least you want, then its down to you to reach a level which you are happy with

I would have hoped for a bit more for my G40 - But if the trade in is only going to be work £1500 off the £5000 asking price then I'd rather a couple of hundred off the price too! Maybe £3200 cash + my G40 is what i'd be happier with!

Hi, I was just browsing this forum as I'm interested in a Fabia vRS. I've also seen this one, spoke to the fella yesterday afternoon. I understand dealers pay less than list price for part ex's but I thought offering £2k for my car which is worth £3.5k was taking the **** a bit.

It's a nice looking car and comes with leather and I can't see any others with that. I prefer the normal seats but was going to sell the leather to make more cash. Bargain considering he is getting all the work it needs done for you (cambelt, water pump etc). I wish I had the cash sitting around to snap it up.

I'd go for it if I was in your position, just depends if you want to take that little on your G40.
