to get vRS cambelt and service done down near Truro?

I am in need of a full service, cam belt and water pump change, and would like to know if anyone knows any good reliable mechs in the area?

I am gettin all the above done and they said its gonna be around 600? is that about right?

I've been quoted £313 for the cambelt and water pump from my Skoda dealers and I'd trust these guys (Alex lawrie Skoda) but nowhere near you i'm afraid but gives you an idea of price.

Sparkplugs are due to be changed at 40,000 so that may be why your price seems quite high?

its the 60K service i am gettin done and the belt n pump

pump £50+vat

belt £250+vat inc fitting

service £200ish+fat

5-600 he said so hopin its near 500 lol

Why can't they give you a fixed price? Around 500 sounds about right mate. Just so you know the £313 i was quoted included belt, waterpump, tensioner and fitting but i've decided to do it myself along with the plugs, oil + filter coz I love playing and i'll know it's done right and save pennies for Nurburgring laps

Had mine done last month, cambelt with metal impellar water pump, 60k service and fitting of rear arb -all in £500.

that sounds good mate, ill make sure i am not ripped off like, I going for the std water pump even though he said it didnt need doing lol

i want the old pump back too so i can see the state it is in

Get a fixed price from any mechanic you use. All this I don't know what I'm going to find is rubbish and a ploy to extract more £££ out of us

How far do you want to travel? As Volkscraft in exeter is top class! Matt who own's it was a seat technician for 9 years and really knows his stuff, and his labour rates are very resonable.

Why not just have oil & filter plus fuel filter done instead of 'service'??

That's all they'll change anyway, and bill you for £200 instead of about £65.

Changing oil+filter and fuel filter is not a full service.

What about Air filter, Pollen filter, Brake fluid, Coolant, Brake strip down/inspection etc etc.

i dont need the air filter ans i got PX one on CAI pipe, needs the pollen filter and rest doin though and the stamp in book aswell as the ecu reset for the longlife service,gonna keep it SSH till she is 6ish year old then I either sell or keep till she is rusted up and fallen apart lol(30yr)

after that ill do it all myself and prob even do the cam belt too.
