Coilovers

Featured Replies

Just had the Kw V1's fitted whilst i was in work by a mate, he didnt wind them down as didnt know how low i wanted them to be. I drove it 2 mins from his garage to mine and theres alot of crashing noise. I was thinking would this be because the springs are really compressed or has something been missed out? Any thoughts/comments welcome.

Cheers

Luke

Let me know Cos im supposed to be having these fitted in 3 weeks.

Yeah sure i will do, i dont get time off till tuesday so i wont be having a look untill then i kinda hoped for a little bit of guidance off here to put my mind at ease really :(. I can see me taking the rear adjusters out to get the back down lower though already, I have a thing for lowness and its been killing me being in 4x4 mode with the S3 wheels it made it look even highier.

Yes this is something i noticed too - the KW dont seem to go low enough at the back which is a shame

I got SPAX coiles on Lissy and they are noisy as hell!

Vmaxx here and they bob on :)

you will get a large amount of noise..... its normal but can also mean thisngs are knocking. like mt RARB is knocking on my Exhaust

It's alright, you'll have to replace them soon anyway

Than just loose the adjustment thing at the back

is their a perticular brand of coilover which keeps most of the comfort of the vehicle ?

im looking to buy a vRS in a few months but i dont like how high they sit, ive got a Clio at the moment which is 'on its ****!' so it handles like a go kart but speed bumps are a no no

KW or Eibach are probably best for comfort, with adjustable damping. Muchos £££ though.

Is anyone running weitec's? had these on my last car and was impressed, just want to know if there as good on the vrs.

then it just looks silly low, another 10mm at the back with the rings in would have been bob on

Well - they dont match my colour scheme now :P cheeky!!! As it happens she was taken apart completely today after I had a maaaaaaaaaajor paddy and threw my toys out the pram over it the lads decided she best be fixed :D

Front mount brearings loose, back strut mounts loose. Front ARB not connected ... no wonder she was bloody noisy! Drove home tonight sweet as YIPPEE!

Iv got them on my vrs and there spot on, cant fault them :D

I think Im going to have to raise the front though or have the tracking looked at because I noticed today the inside of the tyre is wearing faster than the outside :thumbdwn:

wear like that has nothing to do with ride height, will be a tracking / suspension issue

Ill get tracking looked at and hopefully that will sort it :D
