Hi all thought this might be of interest to a few people. I have a 2001 Octavia vrs. She has 121k miles and is spanked everywhere I go but she has an oil change every 4k along with other parts as she is my ‘opt out company car’ so I get paid to keep her in tip top shape.

Sorry for the above just some background info. A few days she had a hesitation - the old n75 isuue??? No. After a few hours out and a borrowed n75 of a car that ran fine no different. After a few hard drives - 3 gear, red line it spat up ‘ multiple miss-fire cylinder 2+3’. After a look and previous hours of reading on this web site I found the coil pack wiring to have hardened, cracked and exposed a few of the wires - which had gone green. So yesterday went to a scrap yard and cut part of a loom away on a good donor car to replace mine. Like the cage mod, I guess, any type of resistance the car picks it up - hence the issue.

PS tried 2 new coil packs - no joy.

Ill keep you posted if works/or not!!!! And ill get some pictures up loaded. I had to cut some insulation tape away to fine more perished wires so it was not that easy to se at first.

ECS do an uprated coil pack loom for the 1.8T, maybe try and get hold of one.
