I may be completly wrong here, but today I noticed my coolant temp gauge was completely to the left when i first started her up, and it gradualy went up after 5 mins of driving and sat in the middle at 90.

Now I may just be a complete fool, But im sure in the past soon as I start the car it immediatly goes up to 90 straight away? Ive never noticed it anywhere but on 90.

and its not really that cold of a day either..

Do I have a problem with the car or is this normal ?

Cheers

Pete

This is normal.

You coolant is not at 90 deg. as soon as you start your car, is it? The gauge will reflect the coolant temperature. I guess it was around 10deg. when you started up and then warmed up over a period of minutes to reach 90deg. which is running temperature. In colder weather it will take longer to warm up.
