Hi i am new to this site and was wondering if any one can help me we have a 57 plate octavia vrs thats done 15k. its all ready had new front seats at 10k. and have now worn out again. westover skoda mk say this is fair wear and tear at 4k. skoda customer services are not interested either can anyone help ???

Very strange about yours .... mine receive nothing more than a quick hoover, no special treatment.

they just wearing right on the edge where you get in and out!

These seats put me off buying a VRS. They looked good but would require seat covers for daily use in my opinion.

I would agree that the vRs seats are not the most sturdy BUT IMHO it will depend how they are used.

They will easily wear on the side bolster if you rub excessively on it when getting in/out (the leather is quite soft) and the central mesh will not last too long if you have 'rivets' in your jeans!

Pics of the wear would be useful to understand the problem. I have done 18k on my 56 plate and have had no problems with wear. I would disagree that you need a seat cover to use it everyday. I use mine everyday with no covers and the seats look great, I also wear jeans as well with no issues on seat wear. They are also significantly more practical than my olde Mk1 vrs seats with pure white inserts.

It's not an ideal solution but put the seat to its lowest setting & right back before entering & exiting, less wear that way, as for how long is suitable I can't comment!

My mate has the same problem in his - the seat has a hole in it from him getting in and out and the car has only done 20k!

Mine has about 20Kmiles, is used daily and no wear.

Mine are still top notch at 20000. In fact the two vRS's at work are still looking good at 80 and 96k. And they are in use 24/7 by various coppers.

Mine has done 60000 and is starting to wear on the bolster.

Probably because I have to keep getting out to top up the oil so often.

hi rob i have an 03 octavia vRS and the seats are still in really good shape never been replaced and only very slight wear at 66k and i use it daily only problem i have is the mesh centres are getting dirty and i find it hard to clean.
