Hi, when I went to put my drivers window down this morning I heard a loud bang. Took the door panel off and found that the cable on the motor has snapped. Can these be bought separately or do they come as one complete unit (motor & mechanism)? Typical, the car's 2 days out of warranty. Cheers.

Hey RVRS, There must be something in the air mine broke on me last night..........

It comes as a complete assy, you just swap the motor over and bolt the new unit in place. It cost £53 inc from a vag tps. Oh and contary to suggestions they are not the same as Golf/Bora ones. Hope this helps.

Managed to get a genuine window regulator for £85 (cheapest i could get), this one is slightly different from the old where the motor bolts on but works just the same. Cheers.
