Cheap Code Reader

Featured Replies

For those who don't fancy using VAG.COM and a laptop, but who would like a cheap FCR that works, try one of these.

Fault Code Reader for Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda (1996-2008) :: Gendan Automotive Products

Note it will not show live data, but it will show fault codes for engine, automatic Transmission, SRS and ABS, it will also clear fault codes.

It's pretty much idiot proof, and saves you giving a dealer £60 for a diagnostic report. :D

I've a similar machine and it has proved very useful. The fault code clearing is very useful when messing about.

Can highly recommend the V-checker. About £60, self-contained, and does most of what the VAG1551/1552 does.

I got a £25 ebay special. Read the codes fine, and wipes them. For the money, I can't fault it.
